LotsTeam vs Featurebase: Per Project or Per Seat (2026)

LotsTeam and Featurebase both collect user requests, run a public portal and roadmap, publish a changelog and have an MCP server, so an AI agent can run the workflow. The difference is the price model and the scope. LotsTeam charges per project, with unlimited team members, and puts a task board next to the requests behind it: $9 per project a month, or $24 for three. Featurebase charges per seat, from $29 per seat a month on Growth billed yearly, and is the broader suite, with a full helpdesk, help center, surveys and an AI support agent.

If you're a founder or a lean team that talks to users, ships often and works in ChatGPT, Claude or Claude Code, LotsTeam is the better fit, and the gap grows with every person you add. If you want a full customer support platform with live chat, a help center and surveys in the same tool, look at Featurebase.

Everything about Featurebase below comes from its own website and help center, checked on 7 October 2026, with links at the end. In LotsTeam a "post" means a piece of product feedback, such as a request, a bug or an idea, and a "project" is one product's workspace.

Where LotsTeam is the better choice

You pay for products, not people

Featurebase bills per seat, and its FAQ says paid seats are the teammates who need full access to manage conversations and feedback, reply to customers and edit settings. LotsTeam bills per project, and organizations and team members are unlimited.

Here is what one product costs per month with a team of different sizes, at list prices:

People who work in the toolLotsTeam (one product, pay as you go)Featurebase Growth (billed yearly)
1$9$29
2$9$58
5$9$145
10$9$290

For three products on one team, LotsTeam's Starter plan is $24 a month whatever the team size. Featurebase's free plan covers one seat and one feedback board, and Growth also includes helpdesk features, so the comparison is about the model, not like-for-like scope. If a growing team is the point, the seat count is where the two models separate.

Requests, tasks and the changelog in one place

In LotsTeam a request from the widget or the public portal, the task that comes from it and the changelog entry that announces it are linked records. Your agent reads and prioritises the requests, creates a task, links the post to it, and when the work ships it drafts the changelog entry. If the entry is linked to a task with requests behind it, you can choose to email the people who asked. Anonymous voters aren't emailed.

Featurebase approaches the same loop with integrations: it connects to Linear, Jira, Slack and more than ten other tools, and closes the feedback loop automatically on every plan. If your tasks already live in Linear or Jira, that fits. If you want the board next to the requests without another tool, LotsTeam has it built in.

An agent that drafts, and you approve

LotsTeam's agent reads a support thread and prepares a reply. Sending needs your instruction, and a sent reply emails the customer. Every agent action is on the record, and the agent acts with the permissions of the person signed in: a viewer reads, a member works inside their projects.

Featurebase takes a different route to support: its AI agent, Fibi, answers customers directly and is charged at $0.49 per resolution on paid plans. If you want an AI that answers customers on its own, that's the Featurebase model. If you want the agent to prepare the work and you keep the send button, that's LotsTeam's.

MCP and REST on every plan

LotsTeam includes the MCP server (https://api.lots.team/mcp) and a REST API on every plan and on pay as you go. Featurebase's MCP server is on all paid plans and not on the free plan, and its pricing page lists API, MCP and webhooks from Growth.

A free start without a plan

New LotsTeam accounts get 10,000 free credits, valid 90 days, with no card. That's enough to run one project for a month, and it works through your agent from the first day.

What Featurebase offers

Featurebase is the broader suite, and its strengths are real:

  • A full helpdesk. Live chat, email, Slack and other channels, a unified inbox with ticketing, a mobile app, workflows, SLAs and round-robin assignment on higher plans.
  • An AI support agent. Fibi resolves customer conversations, at $0.49 per resolution.
  • A help center and surveys. Self-service documentation, updates, chats and banners, emails and surveys.
  • A free plan. One seat, unlimited end users and feedback, one board, one roadmap and a public portal.
  • A broad MCP surface. Its MCP covers feedback posts, conversations, tickets, Help Center articles, users and companies, updates, reports, surveys and webhooks, with OAuth sign-in and the connected teammate's permissions.
  • Compliance and hosting. It lists SOC 2 Type II and GDPR, with data hosted in the Netherlands and Germany.
  • Migration tools. It imports feedback from Canny, Productboard, Frill and Beamer, among others, or from CSV.
  • A startup program. Eligible young startups can get 86% off.
