The right Featurebase alternative depends on which part of Featurebase you actually use. If you mainly use the feedback board, roadmap and changelog, you work in an AI agent, and the per-seat bill is the problem, LotsTeam is the one to try first: it's $9 per project a month, or $24 for three, with unlimited team members, and its MCP server and REST API are on every plan. If you need the full helpdesk with live chat, an AI agent that answers customers and a help center, Productlane is the closest like-for-like, and staying on Featurebase is a fair call too.
Below are eight Featurebase alternatives for founders and small product teams who use an AI agent such as ChatGPT, Claude or Claude Code, with what each one charges for, whether your agent can work in it, and where Featurebase is still the better pick. In LotsTeam a "post" means a piece of product feedback, such as a request, a bug or an idea, and a "project" is one product's workspace.

Why people look for a Featurebase alternative
Featurebase is a broad suite, and its pricing page says plainly how it charges. These are the points that send people looking, all from Featurebase's own page:
- You pay per seat. Growth is $29 per seat a month, Professional $59 and Enterprise $99, billed yearly. Featurebase's FAQ says a paid seat is any teammate who needs full access to core features, such as managing conversations and feedback, replying to customers or editing settings. Professional adds 20 free Lite seats for limited access, and Enterprise 50.
- The free plan is one seat with the basics. It includes unlimited end users and feedback, one feedback board, one roadmap and a public portal. In Featurebase's plan table, the API, MCP and webhooks, in-app widgets, a custom domain and the public changelog page all start on Growth.
- Some extras are priced on top. The Fibi AI agent costs $0.49 per resolution on paid plans, and removing Featurebase branding is listed as $69 a month on Professional and Enterprise.
None of that is a flaw: it's how a support suite priced per agent works. It's just a poor match when you're a founder or a small team that mostly wants requests, a roadmap and a changelog, and you'd rather add teammates without adding seats.
What one product costs as the team grows
Here is the per-month list price for one product at different team sizes. Featurebase Growth also includes helpdesk features, so this compares the price model, not identical scope.

|---|---|---|
| 1 | $9 | $29 |
| 3 | $9 | $87 |

| 10 | $9 | $290 |

1. LotsTeam: per-project pricing, with the agent doing the product ops
LotsTeam keeps user requests, the tasks behind them, support messages and the changelog in one workspace, and your agent runs it through the MCP server at https://api.lots.team/mcp. A feedback widget and a public portal with votes collect requests, bugs and ideas. Your agent reads and prioritises them, logs a request you heard on a call, creates a task and links the post to it, and when the work ships it drafts the changelog entry. If the entry is linked to a task with requests behind it, you can choose to email the people who asked.
- You pay for products, not people. $9 per project a month on pay as you go, or plans of $24 for 3 projects, $69 for 10 and $159 for 30. Yearly billing is ten times the monthly price. Organizations and team members are unlimited on every plan.
- MCP and REST on every plan, including pay as you go. The agent signs in with OAuth and acts with the signed-in person's permissions: a viewer reads, a member works only in their projects.
- A task board next to the requests. No separate issue tracker needed to turn a request into work.
- Support replies you approve. The agent reads a support thread and prepares a reply. Sending needs your instruction, and a sent reply emails the customer.
- No feature gates by plan. Custom domain, custom email, the support inbox, team roles and the changelog are on every plan, and every agent action is on the record.
- A free start: 10,000 free credits, valid 90 days, with no card. That covers one project for a month.
What LotsTeam doesn't do: it has no help center, live chat, surveys or AI agent that answers customers on its own, and no importer, so you'd log what matters through your agent. Creating projects and inviting members stay in the dashboard. The full side-by-side is in LotsTeam vs Featurebase.
Choose LotsTeam if you're a founder or lean team, you work in ChatGPT, Claude or Claude Code, and you want one flat price per product for requests, tasks, support and the changelog.
2. Productlane: the support-first suite, built around Linear
Productlane is the closest match to Featurebase's support side. It has a shared inbox for email, live chat and Slack (the Slack inbox starts on Pro), the Productlane Agent that resolves tickets, a self-updating help center, a feedback portal and a changelog, with Linear at the centre for engineering work. Starter is $29 per user a month, Pro $59 and Scale $99, billed yearly, with 25, 50 or 100 AI resolutions included and $0.79 per resolution after that. Its MCP server connects with OAuth or an API key, limited to the scopes you grant, and its docs say MCP needs an active plan or trial. More in LotsTeam vs Productlane.
Choose Productlane if you want a helpdesk with an AI agent and your engineering already runs in Linear.
3. Canny: the feedback specialist, priced by tracked users
Canny is the established name for feedback boards, roadmaps and changelogs, with Autopilot, which captures, deduplicates and triages feedback from support and sales conversations, included on every plan. The free plan covers 25 tracked users and Pro starts at $79 a month billed yearly for 100 tracked users, with the price rising as more people give feedback. Contributors are unlimited on every plan; Free has 5 managers and Pro 10. Its MCP server, on any paid plan, has over 55 tools, and its FAQ says changes are logged with undo. Canny has no helpdesk. The tracked-user pricing is covered in Canny Alternatives.
Choose Canny if automatic feedback capture from sales and support calls matters more to you than the bill.
4. UserJot: flat plans, a big MCP and imports
UserJot has feedback boards, a public roadmap and a changelog on every plan, including the free one, with unlimited users and posts. Free has three team members and two boards; Starter at $29 a month adds unlimited team members, a custom domain and five boards; Professional at $59 adds unlimited boards and SSO. Paid plans start with a 14-day trial. Live chat is in beta and not part of any plan's price yet. Its MCP server, on Starter and Professional, has 80 tools, and UserJot's own MCP page says a token can reach the whole workspace, so it recommends a token per agent. It imports from Canny and Nolt, or by CSV.
Choose UserJot if you want a flat price, many agent tools and an import path.
5. Sleekplan: feedback, changelog and surveys on a small budget
Sleekplan is the nearest small-team match for Featurebase's feedback-plus-surveys mix: a feedback board, roadmap, changelog, NPS and CSAT, and surveys. The free Indie plan has unlimited feedback, a feedback board and a changelog for a single admin. Starter is $13 a month billed yearly with 3 team seats, CSAT, NPS, SSO and the API; Business is $38 billed yearly with 10 seats, surveys, a custom domain and branding removal. Paid plans have a 30-day trial with no card. Its MCP server signs in with OAuth, runs on EU servers and lists 14 tools, including capturing feedback, replying to comments and publishing a changelog entry.
Choose Sleekplan if you want feedback and surveys in one place at a low price, for a small team.
6. Frill: unlimited teammates, and an agent that reads
Frill covers ideas, a roadmap, announcements and in-product surveys. Plans run from Startup at $25 a month (50 active ideas) to Business at $49, Growth at $149 and Enterprise at $349, with unlimited teammates and tracked users on every plan and a 14-day trial with no card. Its plan table lists a Canny import and bulk CSV import and export. Its MCP server is read-only with ten tools, so an agent can look up and summarise feedback but can't change it.
Choose Frill if you want unlimited teammates on a flat plan and only need your agent to read.
7. Upvoty: unlimited tracked users from $15
Upvoty has feedback boards, a public roadmap and a changelog. Power is $15 a month, Super $25 and Hyper $49, billed monthly, with unlimited boards and tracked users on every plan and a 14-day trial with no card. The changelog is listed on Super, and Hyper adds unlimited projects, the Upvoty MCP server, the API and webhooks. Its MCP uses scoped tokens (read, write or admin), and agent calls go into the same audit log as API calls.
Choose Upvoty if you want a low flat price and are happy to take the top plan for agent access.
8. Fider: the free and open-source option
If you searched for a free or open-source Featurebase alternative, Fider is the one to know. It's an open-source feedback board under the AGPL-3.0 licence, with its code on GitHub, so you can host it yourself. The hosted version is free with a fair-use limit of 250 feedback requests, and Pro is $25 a month with content moderation and unlimited feedback items. It's a voting board, not a suite: its site lists no support inbox or changelog, and neither its site nor its GitHub README lists an MCP server.
Choose Fider if you only need a simple voting board, or you want to run it on your own server.
When to stay on Featurebase
Featurebase does a lot well, and for some teams nothing above replaces it:
- A full helpdesk. Live chat, an omnichannel inbox with ticketing, a mobile app, and on higher plans workflows, SLAs and round-robin assignment.
- An AI agent for customers. Fibi answers customers and is billed at $0.49 per resolution.
- A help center, outbound and surveys in the same subscription. The free plan already includes a public help center with up to 50 articles.
- A broad MCP. It covers feedback, support conversations and tickets, help center articles, updates, users, reports, surveys and webhooks, signs in with OAuth, inherits the teammate's permissions, and logs changes in workspace activity.
- Compliance. SOC 2 Type II and GDPR, with data hosted in the Netherlands and Germany.
- Migration and discounts. It imports feedback from Canny, Productboard, Frill and Beamer, among others, or from CSV, and eligible startups can get 86% off.
If you run a support team and want one suite for it all, Featurebase is built for that.

Common questions
What is the best alternative to Featurebase?
It depends on which part you use. For feedback, a task board, support and the changelog run from your AI agent at one price per product, LotsTeam costs $9 per project with unlimited team members. For a helpdesk with an AI agent, Productlane. For automatic feedback capture, Canny. For a free or open-source board, Fider.
Is there a free Featurebase alternative?
Several have a free plan: UserJot (three team members), Sleekplan (one admin), Canny (25 tracked users) and Fider (hosted, or self-hosted). Featurebase itself has a free plan with one seat. LotsTeam gives new accounts 10,000 free credits, valid 90 days, with no card.
Is there an open-source alternative to Featurebase?
Yes. Fider is open source under the AGPL-3.0 licence, with its code on GitHub, and you can host it yourself. It's a feedback and voting board rather than a suite with a support inbox and changelog.
Does Featurebase charge per seat?
Yes. Paid plans are priced per seat per month, billed yearly: $29 on Growth, $59 on Professional and $99 on Enterprise. A paid seat is a teammate who needs full access. Professional includes 20 free Lite seats and Enterprise 50.
Does Featurebase's free plan include MCP?
No. Featurebase's help center says its MCP server is available on all paid plans, and its plan table lists the API, MCP and webhooks from Growth. LotsTeam includes its MCP server and REST API on every plan and on pay as you go.
Which Featurebase alternatives work with an AI agent?
LotsTeam, Productlane, Canny, UserJot, Sleekplan, Frill and Upvoty all have an MCP server. They differ in plan and scope: LotsTeam's is on every plan, Canny's on any paid plan, UserJot's on Starter and Professional, Upvoty's on Hyper, and Frill's is read-only.
