LotsTeam vs Canny: Which Is Better for Running Product Feedback From Your AI Agent?

LotsTeam and Canny both collect user requests, run a public feedback portal and roadmap, publish a changelog and have an MCP server, so an AI agent can work with your feedback. The difference is what you pay for and what sits next to the requests. LotsTeam charges per project, with unlimited team members, and keeps a task board, a support inbox and the changelog in the same workspace: $9 per project a month, or $24 for three. Canny charges by tracked users, the people who post, vote or comment, from $79 a month billed yearly for 100 tracked users on Pro, and its price rises as more people give feedback.

If you're a founder or a lean team with an engaged audience, you work in ChatGPT, Claude or Claude Code, and you want one bill per product however many people vote, LotsTeam is the better fit. If your feedback lives in sales calls and support tickets and you want AI to capture it and weigh it by revenue, look at Canny.

Everything about Canny below comes from its own pricing page (the tracked-user slider read in the browser), feature pages, integrations page and help center, checked on 12 October 2026, with links at the end. In LotsTeam a "post" means a piece of product feedback, such as a request, a bug or an idea, and a "project" is one product's workspace.

Where LotsTeam is the better choice

One price per product, however many people give feedback

Canny's pricing page defines a tracked user as someone who has given feedback by creating a post, voting or commenting, whether they did it themselves, an admin did it on their behalf, or Autopilot did. Pro starts at 100 tracked users, and when you pass your limit Canny moves you to the next tier and charges the prorated difference, unless you've set a spend limit, in which case it stops tracking feedback from new users.

LotsTeam doesn't count the people who give feedback. A project costs the same whether ten people vote or ten thousand, and organizations and team members are unlimited.

Here is one product at list prices, from Canny's pricing slider on 12 October 2026:

Tracked users on CannyLotsTeam (one project, pay as you go)Canny Pro, billed monthlyCanny Pro, billed yearly (per month)
100$9$99$79
300$9$224$179
600$9$411$329
1,000$9$661$529
2,500$9$1,036$829

For three products, LotsTeam's Starter plan is $24 a month. Canny's Pro also includes Autopilot's feedback capture and revenue reporting, so this compares the price model, not identical scope. If your audience is engaged and growing, the tracked-user count is where the two models separate.

Requests, tasks, support and the changelog in one workspace

In LotsTeam a request from the widget or the portal, the task that comes from it, the support thread where a customer asked about it and the changelog entry that announces it all live in one project. Your agent reads and prioritises the requests, merges duplicates (votes and task links move to the kept post, and nothing is deleted), creates a task and links every post that asked for the same thing to it. There's a real run of it on a test project in How to Triage Customer Feedback With Claude or ChatGPT.

When the work ships, the agent drafts the changelog entry. If the entry is linked to a task with requests behind it, you can choose to email the people who asked: each author of a linked post who left an email gets one message saying what shipped. That's off unless you turn it on for the entry, and anonymous voters aren't emailed. The steps are in How to Publish a Changelog and Notify the People Who Asked.

Canny's loop runs through integrations: its project management sync with Jira, Linear, Asana, ClickUp, GitHub and Azure DevOps starts on Pro, and its changelog emails subscribers when you publish, also from Pro. If your engineering work already lives in one of those trackers, that fits. If you want the board next to the requests without another tool, LotsTeam has it built in.

A support inbox, with replies you approve

LotsTeam has a support inbox in every project. Your agent reads a thread and prepares a reply, and sending needs your instruction; a sent reply emails the customer. The agent can also mark messages read or archived in bulk.

Canny takes a different route: Autopilot reads the conversations in the helpdesk you already use, such as Intercom, Zendesk, Help Scout or Freshdesk, and pulls the feedback out of them. If your support already runs in one of those, that's useful. If you want support messages and the requests behind them in the same place, LotsTeam keeps them together.

MCP and REST on every plan, and your agent can set up the project

LotsTeam includes the MCP server (https://api.lots.team/mcp) and a REST API on every plan and on pay as you go. Canny's MCP server needs a Pro or Business plan, and its help center says the workspace also needs Canny Ideas enabled and an Owner has to connect first. Canny's API and webhooks are on every plan, including Free.

Your agent can do the setup in LotsTeam too: create a project (it's billed, so the agent confirms with you first), update its name, logo and portal settings, and connect a custom portal domain, where you add one CNAME record and the agent verifies it. You can also make a project internal, with no public portal, for work your team keeps to itself. The agent acts with the permissions of the person signed in: a viewer reads, and a member works inside their projects. Inviting people and billing stay in the dashboard.

A free start without counting voters

New LotsTeam accounts get 10,000 free credits, valid 90 days, with no card. That's enough to run one project for a month, with the MCP server from day one.

What Canny offers

Canny is an established feedback platform, and its strengths are real:

  • Autopilot on every plan. It reads sales and support conversations from sources such as Gong, Intercom, Zendesk, Slack, Help Scout, Freshdesk and Zoom, plus public reviews on G2, Capterra, Trustpilot and the app stores, then captures, deduplicates and sorts feedback by product area. From Pro, Smart Replies ask customers follow-up questions and Comment Summaries condense long threads.
  • Revenue context. Requests come tied to the customer, account and revenue behind them, and the roadmap can be scored by ARR, opportunity value and churn risk. HubSpot and Salesforce connect on Business.
  • A wide set of integrations. Project management sync from Pro, Slack, Microsoft Teams and Discord notifications, SSO through Okta, OIDC, Entra ID and OneLogin on Business, and Zapier.
  • An MCP server with role-scoped tools. It works with ChatGPT, Claude and Cursor, signs in with OAuth, follows each person's Canny role, and logs changes with undo.
  • A free plan. 25 tracked users, unlimited feedback and boards, and Autopilot.
  • Compliance. SOC 2 from Pro, plus GDPR and CCPA.

Common questions

Is LotsTeam a Canny alternative?

Yes, for the feedback portal, voting, roadmap and changelog part of Canny, plus a task board and a support inbox in the same workspace. LotsTeam charges per project with unlimited team members and doesn't count tracked users. It doesn't capture feedback automatically from sales calls and helpdesks the way Canny's Autopilot does, and it has no importer from Canny.

How much does Canny cost?

Canny has a free plan for 25 tracked users. Pro starts at $79 a month billed yearly for 100 tracked users and rises with the count: on its slider on 12 October 2026, billed monthly, Pro was $99 at 100 tracked users, $661 at 1,000 and $1,036 at 2,500. Business, for 5,000 and more tracked users, is custom. Yearly billing takes 20% off.

What is a tracked user in Canny?

Someone who has given feedback by creating a post, voting or commenting, whether they did it themselves, an admin did it on their behalf, or Autopilot did.

Does Canny have an MCP server?

Yes. It works with ChatGPT, Claude and Cursor, signs in with OAuth and follows each person's Canny role. It needs a Pro or Business plan and Canny Ideas enabled, and an Owner has to connect first. LotsTeam's MCP server is on every plan and on pay as you go.

Does LotsTeam charge per user?

No. You pay for projects: $9 per project a month on pay as you go, or $24, $69 or $159 a month for 3, 10 or 30 projects. Organizations and team members are unlimited, and nobody counts the people who post or vote.

Can I move from Canny to LotsTeam?

There's no importer. Your agent can log the requests that matter as posts, with the requester's email where you have it, so they can be notified when the work ships.
